Start with the constraint
Identify the business impact and operational failure mode before selecting a tool or architecture.
About
Remote Ops is an independent engineering practice led by Maksym Shaposhnikov, focused on cloud infrastructure, delivery systems and production reliability.
Maksym Shaposhnikov
Maksym is a Senior DevOps and Platform Engineer with more than 20 years of experience in IT, systems engineering and production infrastructure, including more than a decade focused on DevOps and cloud engineering.
His work covers AWS, Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, networking, security automation and observability.
Remote Ops was created to give software teams access to senior infrastructure expertise without the delay, cost and commitment of another full-time hire.
Engineering principles
Infrastructure improvements are evaluated not only by whether they work today, but also by how safely they can be reviewed, operated and changed later.
Identify the business impact and operational failure mode before selecting a tool or architecture.
A smaller, reviewable improvement is often more valuable than an unnecessary platform rebuild.
Assumptions, access requirements, rollout conditions and failure paths should be visible.
Changes should be represented through source control, pull requests and documented decisions whenever possible.
Monitoring and logging should support decisions, incident response and capacity planning.
The client team should understand what changed, why it changed and how to operate it.
Core technical scope
The technology stack supports the engagement. It does not define the engagement.
AWS multi-account environments, Azure platform services, private networking and cloud migrations.
EKS, cluster operations, Helm, Argo CD, workloads, networking and observability.
Terraform, Terragrunt, Ansible and automated configuration management.
GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Tekton and secure software delivery workflows.
Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, logs, metrics, dashboards and alerting.
Cloudflare, DNS, WAF, TLS certificates, MikroTik and production network troubleshooting.
Fit
Remote Ops is primarily intended for SaaS and software engineering teams that have real infrastructure responsibility but lack consistent senior ownership.
Describe the environment and the constraint you are dealing with.
